McFadden's Friday Night

http://www.mcfaddensdc.com/

FYI

I encourage questions, comments, emails, Tweet me----whatever! I’ve been going out for years, but I’m always looking for new places.

My Friday Pick

I will be having an extremely dull Friday. But I recommend Josephine to anyone who can go anywhere. Friday they play House in the Main Room, Hip Hop, R&B and Mash Ups in the Gold Room. The music is always good. The bartenders are always fast and it’s my FAVORITE lounge in all of DC. If you sign up on the Guest List, you can get in free most nights before midnight.

Oh, dress to please.  It makes it a lot easier to get in quickly!

I know it's not in DC BUT......

Front Page Arlington has good thirsty Thursday beer specials.  From 5 pm to close they have $2 Corona, Corona Light and Miller Lite.  Plus, free tacos.  It's a good laid back place to go, especially if you're just warming up for the weekend!

Twitter

I’m pretty amazing at tweeting all the time. So, if you’d like to know what’s going on in DC, check out my Twitter. Throughout the weekend I’ll be Tweeting promo’s. Most of them have guest lists which are fantastic and I’ll get more into that on a later post.

Ready for the weekend?

K Street

I’ve been going to K Street for years. Most of the time I really enjoy it, but it can be a little hit or miss depending on the crowd. Some things that are always consistent though are fast entry, good promotions and plenty of bartenders.

This past weekend K Street had FREE Belvedere drinks until midnight. I will go just about anywhere that serves free drinks, especially Belvedere or Champagne. The key to finding these things out though, is getting on email lists.

http://www.kstreetdc.com/newaccount/http://

K Street doesn’t get busy until close to 12. Luckily DJ Nesta B was awesome. He played a steady stream of pop mixes and once the crowd arrived, the dancing started and the singing. Yes, singing. The best example of this was the large group of guys standing in the middle of the dance floor “singing” every word of “Only Girl in the World” as loud as they could. They weren’t very good singers, but boy do they love Rihanna.

As far as atmosphere, K Street is exactly what you would expect from a lounge. It’s sleek, modern and tastefully lit. The bathrooms are always clean. The dress code prevents any unbutton shirts or baggy jeans on men and encourages women to dress up. The crowd is mostly 22-35, but if you go on the right night, there’s a fair amount of 40 year olds too.

What I have always enjoyed about K Street, is that it’s a good place to go if nothing else is going on because something is always happening there. Keep an eye on their calendar of events and sign up for emails. You never know what you might find!

DC Parking

If you are driving into DC I recommend this web site:

http://http://washingtondc.bestparking.com/index.php#

As long as you enter the date and time the parking information it provides is accurate 95% of the time. I also like the map it uses, because it give you a good idea of how far you’ll have to walk and one way streets. I prefer driving because the Metro takes a long time especially with current construction and sometimes the walk from the station can be extensive. A positive though is that you can’t get a DUI on the Metro. Cabs are everywhere in DC and so are cops. Be smart when driving in DC. I’m the designated driver every weekend and I still have fun.
